Ashtanga
Beginner Series
Designed for students with little or no
yoga experience or new to the Ashtanga practice. This class
provides a strong foundation in the basic principles and
internal awarenesses of yoga. Ashtanga postures and flow
sequences are examined in depth with a strong emphasis on
correct alignment and keeping the body safe. Breath and bandha
(energy) work help students develop concentration, peacefulness,
and stamina. Props and posture modifications that honor each
student's unique structural and mental patterns make these
classes accessible to all students.
Ashtanga Mysore Practice
In Mysore, the class is teacher-assisted,
but not called. The teacher is present to assist and guide
students as they work at their own pace committing the sequence
to memory. This class provides a great deal of individual
attention and is an excellent way for students to deepen and
personalize their practice. Suitable for all levels. A minimum
of two months prior experience with the Ashtanga practice is
required.
Beginner Ashtanga Primary Series:
Led and Mysore
Ashtanga is an ancient system of Yoga that is believed to be the
only one with a fully recorded description, where the sequence,
postures, and connecting movements are all clearly defined and
linked to the breath. The practice uses heat and breath to open
and cleanse the body while building strength, flexibility, and
focus. As the body opens, movement becomes easier and endurance
increases. The meditative aspects of the practice quiet the
“busyness” of the mind to create clarity and calm. This series
is offered through two types of classes, and students may attend
one or both classes each week. Please sign up for either
Ashtanga Beginner, one day per week or Ashtanga Beginner Plus
two days per week.

tones your core and is also aerobic which conditions your heart
and revs up your metabolism, helping you to lose extra pounds.
Yoga lengthens and strengthens and helps release tension leaving
you feeling clam and relaxed. No experience required drop-ins
welcomed.
Forrest Yoga
Uses heat, vigorous workouts and deep breathing to sweat out
toxins. This class gets you strong and centered by connecting
you to your core. The long holds in the pose sequences help you
flush, oxygenate and rejuvenate every cell. Forrest Yoga does
not require strength or flexibility; it only requires that you
bring a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and
respond honestly. As you advance you learn how to intelligently
ride your breath into the thrilling advanced poses. This is an
intense, mindful yoga that helps build flexibility, intelligence
and strength allowing students to deepen their relationship with
their authentic self. Please bring 2 mats and a towel to class.
Hatha/Anusara Inspired Yoga

opening postures will focus on alignment, pranayama, flow and
mediation.
Pilates

principles: breath, pelvic placement, ribcage placement,
shoulder blade movement and stabilization of the head and
cervical placement. These classes develop your core strength and
stability.
Vinyasa Flow
Students flow from one posture to another, synchronizing breath
and movement. The class is set to music and designed to
challenge, energize and engage the student. This builds heat,
endurance, flexibility, strength and concentration. Sequencing
is often built around sun salutations; each student is guided
through a complete exploration of movement and philosophy. Focus
is on the fundamentals of postures, pranayama and meditation.
All levels welcomed.

Qi Gong
Qigong is an integration of physical postures, breathing
techniques, and focused intentions. The word Qigong (Chi Kung)
is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is
usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that
flows through all things in the universe. The second word, Gong,
pronounced gung, means accomplishment, or skill that is
cultivated through steady practice. Together, Qigong (Chi Kung)
means cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health
maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.
