Gentle/Restorative Yoga
Gentle/Restorative Yoga involves the combination of physical postures, breathing and deep relaxation. Restorative postures can be very useful for people who feel weak, fatigued or highly stressed. Restorative yoga is gentle enough that it can be practiced when a person is ill or recovering from surgery. By using props (bolsters, blankets, straps, and eye pillows) students can ease themselves into postures that gently stretch the body and allow it to relax.

Rasamaya www.rasamaya.com Each class is formulated with a Rasa/Emotional intention, corresponding chakras, and creative input from the instructor.  Rasamaya yoga focuses on utilizing yoga to transcend emotional barriers.  It provides a space for each person to sit with an emotion, draw and intention surrounding that emotion, and work with it through meditation, pranayama, asana, and chanting.  There are nine Rasas from which a class may be drawn around.  The rasas are: Love, Joy, Wonder, Courage, Fear, Anger, Calmness/Peace, Sadness, and Disgust.  Select music, readings, imagery and quotes are also essential ingredients to a Rasamaya class.  Additionally, a Rasamaya class  can cater to all levels and abilities depending on the needs of the students.

Rasamaya Core Rasamaya translates as “fluid” and CORE is a methodology that laces together Pilates and other core-strengthening movements within a powerful flowing 45 minute rhythmic class.  All classes begin with intention setting, breathwork and body connection before moving into a body strengthening flow. Integration and relaxation is offered at the end of each class to allow the body to absorb the new information and energy it receives from the practice.
